The new iphone 3G will be out in Singapore soon and I am really excited and have made a reservation of this baby. Coincidentally, one of my female friends has made a reservation the same day I did too and we were both talking about what we liked about this phone.

Ber: I like the design. Apple has never failed to show me great product design loh.
Friend: Yeah! I love it the moment I saw it! It runs in Mac OS too! I love Mac!
Ber: It has smart sensors too. Proximity sensor, an accelerometer and ambient light sensors!
Friend: I have seen people surfing with iphone before and it looks great!
Ber: You mustn’t forget about their Multi-Touch Technology as well. It makes the surfing experience even better.

Ber: The new 3G phone also uses the same email system as Blackberry and it now comes with visual voicemail which lets you choose which voicemail to listen to instead of listening to them one by one.
(Friend not wanting to lose..)
Friend: Err… Err.. And it has got GPS!!!! You know girls lah. We get lost easily.
Ber: Uh huh…. But do you know how to read maps??
Friend: ………………. no.

No, my friend did not get angry with me after that conversation. She always readily admit that she is lousy in her sense of direction and it is a good reason to use when she’s late. I have many female friends who have this same problem and I often wonder if that is true or just an excuse. It reminded me of one incident too.

I was meeting another female friend at Suntec and I decided to walked around first because she was late. After walking around for 30mins, the phone rang.

Friend: Hello! I am here already. Where are you?
Ber: I am at the POPCORNPOP shop. Come find me.
Friend: Hmm.. I don’t know how to go.. Guide me leh.
Ber: Huh? Just go to the arcade there.. rightttt at the end of suntec..
Friend: Aiya I don’t know where. You guide me!!
Ber: Ok ok..
(Ber thinking of a way to guide her and an idea struck..)
Ber: Do you see LACOSTE (name of shop) at the entrance? Now walk that direction. Then you see Giordano. There is an escalator there, use it. Then keep walking straight. You will see Hush Puppies and eventually Ocean Pacific. Use that escalator there.

This method worked liked a charm! They may claim that they have no sense of direction but I can bet you they know where all the fashion shops are at! If you don’t believe me, test it. Ask your female friend where is Esprit at Centrepoint or Gucci at Paragon. So now tell me if they really have no sense of direction or just lazy to use it?
