5 good ways to save on car petrol

Author: adber | Files under General

While oil price is breaking new record over and over again and our dear government is adding oil to fire by increasing more ERP gantries and raising the ERP prices. Now Malaysia is also started to feel the pinch of subsidizing fuel prices in their country and have came up with ways to prevent further loses. Singaporean vehicles may have escaped the 50km no top-up ban but topping up fuel in Malaysia have also gotten slightly more costly.

Now I will tell all those car owners 5 good ways to save on car petrol. I hope this will be useful in some way.

  1. Remember to pump your car tires. Higher tire pressures result in lower rolling resistance, so your mileage will improve.
  2. Reduce the weight of your car. Remove all non-essential items from the trunk and the interior of your car. It’s common sense that the heavier your car, the more energy is needed to move it.
  3. Don’t keep your gas tank full all the time. Fuel is weight too so i recommend to always keep it half-tank to 3/4 tank full.
  4. Turn off your air conditioning as often as possible. This is one of the best method to save on fuel.
  5. Use cruise control whenever possible.

If you still find it hard to maintain a car in Singapore, remember that our ‘World Class Transport’ will always welcome you with open arms.
